Inputting marks into the Summative Tracking markbook

Go to Students > Assessments > Summative Tracking. Here you can see all of your summative assessments.

To access the Markbook, you can click the assessment on the Summative Tracking page.

Here you can also see the Mark Input Status page which lists the assessments and whether marking has not been started as yet, has been started or has been completed.

You can also go to Mark entry > Marksheet from the left-hand menu and use the filters at the top of the page to select the assessment.

The filters also let you select the Date Range, Cohort(s), Assessments and Grade Sets you wish to input marks for.

Entering Marks Individually

Once you have accessed the correct Markbook using the settings feature you can begin to enter marks into the grid.

Just click on the cell and select the correct mark from the drop-down menu. (You can also type this in manually and the system will filter the options according to the text being typed in.)

Please note: If you are wanting to enter marks for a different term you will need to select a date from within that term.  If today is the 22nd January you will be able to enter marks for Spring Term if you have assessments set up termly or Spring Term 1 if they are setup for half-termly.

If you need to go back and enter marks for the Autumn Term, just make sure that in the settings you select a date from the Autumn Term date range. Also you will not be able to enter marks for Spring Term 2 until the second half of the term.

 

Bulk Entering Marks

You may have multiple students in your class all with the same mark. To save time you can also bulk enter the marks into the grid as well.

Just tick the students you want to enter the SAME mark for by ticking the box on the left-hand side of their name. 

Once students have been selected the pencil icon at the top of the column becomes visible. (You can select all students by ticking the box beside the pencil if you wish too.)

Clicking on the pencil will provide a list of actions that are available for these students.

Select Bulk Edit Marks and a slide over will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Choose the grade/mark that applies to the selected students and then click on the green 'Save Changes' button.

As well as Bulk Edit Marks you can also select students to add to new or existing interventions and custom groups should you want to. Communicate with the Student or Primary Guardian, approve and make marks no longer editable (using the Set/Unset option) or assign a member of staff to enter the marks for the highlighted students.

 

Adding Comments

The marking grid also contains a Comment column whereyou can add any additional comments to support the mark the student has been given. (These comments can then be fed directly to the Report Card module when needed.)

To add a comment click on the comment cell and a pop-up window will appear for you to type your comment into.
