Customising your setup
You don’t have the ability to change any of the headings that are available within the Behaviour module, such as the words 'Severity' or 'Detentions' as these are fixed in the back end of our system. When setting up behaviour however, you can choose what your Behaviour Types and Detention Types will be called.
You aren't able to set a maximum number of people that are able to be in a particular detention session. You would need to manually check the detention slots each day in order to see if you have too many students in them.
No, our current setup for all Schools has only 5 levels for Positives, 5 levels for Negatives and a Level 0 Neutral.
You will need to set up your Internal Exclusion type first following this guide, then click into the Timetable tab to schedule when these will take place.
Follow our Behaviour Setup guide t see how to create positive or negative Point Award Scales, which will enable you to log points manually or automatically through the use of Incident Workflows.
The first step is to create a Point Awards Scale. Take a look at Behaviour Setup help guide here.
Once you’ve created your scale, you can click in and add in Reasons or Attributes. These will allow staff to specify why a pupil has received Behaviour Points.
Setting up incident workflows
Yes! As part of your setup, you can click into any of the Behaviour Types you have set up and choose to notify a staff member by role or to notify specific members of staff.
Any automated functions within Behaviour need to be set up as Behaviour workflows. Workflows allow you to set up automatic emails, issue automatic Detentions or choose to notify/assign certain staff.
If you want to customise the email template that goes out to staff, you can follow this guide.
We don’t normally recommend changing your behaviour setup mid-year, as it allows for more consistent reporting and analysis if you standardise your behaviour policy for the whole year. If you would like to look at changing your setup mid-year, get in touch with your project or account manager who can advise on best practice.
Using Behaviour
All behaviour for an individual student can be viewed in the Behaviour section on the left-hand side of the profile by looking at the relevant tab.
Please Note: Your permissions will determine what you can see within the Student Profile. Check with the person in your School who deals with permissions if you can’t see something.
There are a few different reasons as to why this could be happening. Before getting in touch with us, ensure that you’ve checked:
- The default email address on the staff member's profile is correct.
- The email domain for Arbor has been whitelisted on your emails. If you’re not sure how to do this, see this guide.
- If your workflow has been set up to notify a business role instead of a particular person, check that the staff member has been given that business role and that it is currently active.
