What has changed and why?
We've made Group MIS Permissions more granular so your staff can access the right level and type of data for their role. This also gives us a great foundation for many more exciting developments in the future!
Here’s what we’ve improved in this update:
- Added more permissions to allow for different levels of access to data
- Clearer explanations of what each permission allows a user to do
- New Permissions have been mapped as closely as possible to the old Permissions
- Business Roles remain the same - only Group and School Permissions have been updated
In line with GDPR, these changes impact how much data individual staff members are able to access and edit based on their Business role. Don't worry, staff cannot see any more data than before, but certain types of data may now be restricted on a need-to-know basis.
You’ll be pleased to know that if your Group or MAT uses Arbor's default Business Roles, the associated permissions have been automatically updated by us, and you don't need to do anything.
If your Group or MAT manages their own Business Roles, we will have contacted you to support you through these changes.
What do I need to do?
You can see which Permissions are now included in each Business Role by clicking the link below:
You shouldn’t need to do anything as we’ve mapped the existing roles and permissions to the new ones, but it’s always good to cast your eye over this so you’re familiar with the changes. If you need to amend anything, see how to manage your Business Roles here.
