Delivered in two parts online, this service is suitable for all Schools that are live on Arbor.

This CPD session is delivered using our Arbor Foundations format so you will be joined by other schools and MATs. This course is designed to give SENCOs, and other staff that work closely with your school's SEN data, the tools they need to utilise data storage and reporting in Arbor to better manage and support students with SEN.

 Part 1 - Recording and Organising SEN Data and Interventions

Adding Further Information on Student Profiles

Aim: to show users where additional information can be recorded and organised on student profiles including Educational Needs, SEN Events, medical information, attachments and using SEN, Behavioural and Academic Notes.

Custom Groups and User Defined Fields

Aim: to demonstrate the power of using Custom Groups and User Defined Fields throughout your Arbor site. 

Creating Custom Groups allows you to manage and track specific groups of students throughout your Arbor site including report filtering, follow up actions (such as Communications).

Creating User Defined Fields allows you to track and report on bespoke additional information.

Aim: to show users how to set up and manage  Interventions, Reviews, and Intervention Categories. 

Covers adding groups within an Intervention, individual participants, defining criteria based outcomes, strategies, and Intervention Costs.

Part 2 - Reporting and Taking Action on Your Data

School Reporting for SENCOs

Locating all key school reports on Arbor including key demographics reports, behaviour and attendance at the student, year group and school levels, funding, SEN provisions and Intervention Provision Maps.  Overview of using filtering to drill into your data.

Custom Report Writer for SENCOs

This workshop is designed to focus on the bespoke reporting capabilities within Arbor including choosing a Data Set, Adding Filters and Groupings, Importing and Scheduling Reports, and using Custom Groups and User Defined Fields to take action on your data. Arbor’s Top Tips and utilizing templates will be included as part of this session.

How to book if you have already purchased this service?

Once you have purchased this service, please advise your Account Manager which course you would like to attend and the name and email addresses of up to 3 members of staff you would like to book onto the course. Your Account Manager will then register your staff onto the selected course and they should receive an email with their unique link to join. They will also be given access to our Core Skills for SENCOs community page where they can access some pre-learning materials to ensure they are ready to access the course's content and start discussions with other course attendees from different Arbor schools.

Before you join the session

    1. Check you are able to access the session by ensuring Zoom.us is whitelisted at your school and is not blocked by any filters on the device(s) you are joining from.
    2. Test your speakers so you can clearly hear the training.
    3. Where possible, set up a second device or tab on your browser so you can log in to the test site and take part in activities to help consolidate your learning. If you can't do this during the session, you will find some activities in the community area to complete afterwards.
    4. Put a sign on your door or find a quiet place to join the session from. It's important you are given time to focus on the training without distractions where possible as we will be covering a lot of core content throughout the session. But don't worry, we have scheduled breaks so you can grab a cup of coffee and be back in time for the next bit of training!

 

What to expect after the course is complete

You will receive an email after each part which will contain the following information:

  • A link to the community page to access your post training activities and articles.
  • A link to the session recording - please download this and save it on your PC as it will expire.
  • (After Part 2 only) - A link to your end of course test of knowledge and confirmation of the deadline date to complete this. You must get a pass rate of 80% to receive your certificate.

Once you have attended both sessions and passed the end of course test of knowledge you will receive a certificate of attendance. We will also add a digital badge to your Community Account in the near future.
