2021/2022 Product Updates Roundup 10 - New attendance improvements

The Headline: Attendance

Columns on the attendance Bulk Edit Marks Advanced page are no longer arbitrarily numbered, but represent the actual time of the events. Marks no longer align left, so you may see two columns with the same times or gaps where some students are enrolled in a time slot but others are not. This makes it easier to see what marks were taken, when, and for which students.

Choose to show any absence type - Unauthorised, authorised or Attendance not required marks (such as X codes) - on the Students > Attendance > Absentees > Broken Weeks page.

We've removed the placeholder text in the Students filter on both Bulk Edit Marks attendance pages, and this field is now required on the Standard page.

The DfE now require schools to report on the numbers for students self-isolating due to returning from abroad. We've added a count of X05 to the count of X09. We've also added X05 to the overall figures.

Just moved to Arbor? Previously, incomplete, unopened or invalid registers that were migrated fromyour previous system would show for teachers on their Homepage To Do list and on the My Items >My Incomplete Registers page, making it tricky to know when there were new registers that needed actioning. Now, these migrated registers will only show in Students > Attendance > Incomplete Registers.

What else is new?

  • Use our new Bulk Update School Led Tutoring Hours page to add the hours of school led tutoring you've offered students per week. We'll then add up your YTD totals for the census.
  • When filtering by House Enrolment for a previous academic year in the Custom Report Writer, you can now filter by houses in previous years.
  • Use conditional formatting in the MAT MIS Custom Report Writer to colour code fields in that column based on certain criteria without needing to export to Excel.
  • When you complete an action in any tab on Arbor, we’ll now keep you on the same tab rather than jump you back to the default.
  • You can now choose to print a timetable for one or just a few rooms from the School > Timetable > Sites & Rooms > Printable Timetables page.
  • For schools who complete the ILR, you can add in students' Programme of Study Outcomes and Outcome Grades, then report on these in the Custom Report Writer.
  • Click +Add in the Identity section of a Year 12 or 13 student’s profile to add their UCAS number. You can also add UCAS destination records from Students > All Students > Browse Students > Destinations.
  • For sending out communications, we’ve renamed the old Student Name (Teachers) option to Student Name (Academic Leads). Use the new Student Name (Teachers) option to send communications to any staff added to a timetable slot the student is in.
  • Key Stage 4 Attainment 8 and EBacc assessments analysis is now available in our Microsoft Power BI connector.
  • We’ve improved the way clubs are shown in the Parent Portal and Arbor App. Now, there are separate sections for each academic year, from this year at the top downwards. Previously, clubs from all years were ordered alphabetically with mixed years, but now it’s easy to jump right to your current clubs.
  • We've added the ability to add documents to Former names, for example for Deed polls.
  • Previously, for an Ad Hoc assessment to appear in a data collection, either the start or end date of the assessment period needed to be in the data collection date range. However, we know often data is collected during the term not the start or end, so you can now set up data collection ranges that happen entirely within the assessment period.
