2021/2022 Product Updates Roundup 18 - A brand new area to manage your School Shop purchases

The Headlines

School Shop

School Shop allows you to set up items for sale at your school such as tickets, tuck shop purchases or uniforms. Enable these to show on the Parent Portal and Arbor App for easy cashless purchases online. Plus you can add payments manually, reconcile the payments and mark items as issued!

School Shop is available for schools on our Payments Plus package - to see how to upgrade or get started, take a look here: Arbor School Shop

Census and Attendance reporting on MAT MIS

It’s now easy to help you support your schools in completing their census! Use our new Census Audit page on the MAT MIS to:

  • See how many schools are running the Workforce, CES and School Censuses
  • Track which schools have Not Generated, Generated and Submitted their Censuses
  • Jump right into the census on the school’s MIS site

We’ve also updated the remaining attendance KPIs to show more contextual data. Visit your homepage or Analytics > Attendance to drill down into your data and take further actions with students, such as sending communications in bulk.

What else is new?

  • New icons in Global Search results help you easily find what you’re looking for, and choose the right user when they have similar names.
  • The 5-day calendar now correctly displays the week cycle name for every week that has at least one good school day, even if Monday is an Inset day or bank holiday.
  • Go to Students > Examinations > Administration > Centre Setup to switch on Access Arrangement reasons on exam registers.
  • We have added new Recorded by and Recorded on fields that can be used in these Custom Report Writer base reports: Child Protection notes, Academic notes, In Care notes, Pastoral notes, Safeguarding notes, SEN notes.
  • Members of staff can now add and edit their own Next of Kin records (including email and phone number) from My Items > My Account.
  • We've removed the Reject EDI file button, so it can no longer be clicked accidentally. Just shoot us an email if you need us to reject an EDI file for you.
  • We’ve also removed the old EYFS marksheet, as it could only be used with the old framework. Mark the new framework from School > Programmes > Courses > Reception > Assessment > Full Marksheet instead.
  • No more delete bin buttons in tables on the TimeTabler import and New School Year Setup pages, as these didn’t do anything.
  • The DfE have recently updated their guidance for recording attendance. We've added 'inactive' to the X01-X09 attendance codes so you can easily see they're no longer valid, but they are still available to select for correcting past attendance for now. You can continue to use the I01 and I02 codes as we won't be making these inactive. Click here for further details.

Coming soon…

Timetabling

Soon you’ll be able to import from Arbor into TimeTabler, rather than needing to keep both systems up to date with tweaks to rooms or staffing. We’re also working on the ability to exclude students from certain lessons, and to import Options!

Assessments

We’re adding new summative assessments that automatically calculate a SUM total, and simplifying the process of adding assessments to next year.

We publish a roundup of our releases every other Friday here. You can also see what else we’re working on using our Roadmap.
