Users with the Arbor Workflows administer all permission can rename or delete Categories. Delete only Categories without live workflows; archived workflows become Uncategorised.
This article explains who can manage Categories, who can see them, and how to rename or delete one. You'll need the Arbor Workflows administer all permission (the one that lets you create workflows) to manage Categories. Other users don't see the Categories page.
For permissions on a single workflow, see How to manage permissions at Workflow level. To check who can access Arbor Workflows at all, see School MIS and MAT MIS Business Roles and Arbor Workflow Permissions. Your Arbor Business Role sets default access levels.
Who can manage and see Categories
Anyone with the Arbor Workflows administer all permission can create, rename and delete Categories. Everyone else doesn't see the Categories page.
Rename a Category
- Go to Settings and select Categories.
- Select the pen on the Category title.
-
Enter the new name and save.
Delete a Category
- Go to Settings and select Categories.
-
Select the Category by ticking the box next to the Category title.
-
Select the 'Action' dropdown at the top of the page. This will present 'Delete'.
Before you delete, note that:
- You can't delete a Category that still has live workflows. Move or deactivate them first.
- Archived workflows in a deleted Category become Uncategorised.
- Warning: Bulk delete currently has no "Are you sure?" step, so check your selection before deleting.
FAQ
Why can't I see the Categories page? Only users with the Arbor Workflows administer permission see it. Ask an administrator.
Why can't I delete a Category? It still has live workflows in it. Archived workflows don't block deletion and become Uncategorised.
