Pre-Migration Data Cleansing

Not yet followed by anyone

Pre-Migration Data Cleansing is a crucial step in ensuring accurate data transfer from your existing MIS to Arbor. It involves preparing and amending your current data to enhance its quality before the migration process. A dummy data run will be conducted in week 3 of onboarding to preview the migrated data. Completing the cleansing activities by the specified deadline is essential to avoid migration delays and ensure a successful Go Live.

What is it?

The first big milestone of your move to Arbor is the migration of data from your existing MIS. Your Customer Onboarding Manager will give you details of our migration process during your Kick-Off meeting.

To make sure the migration is accurate, we give secondary schools one dummy data run on week 3 of the onboarding journey - we’ll migrate your data to Arbor, and you can log in to your Arbor system to see how it looks.

To set you up for success, we ask that you complete a series of cleansing activities on your current MIS to ensure that your data is in the best quality possible and so you can see how it will come across ahead of your final migration. Data Cleansing is the process of amending the data in your current MIS so when your migration takes place, it transfers to the correct area.

How do I do it?

To give yourself plenty of time, start working through the tabs of the attached Pre-Migration Data Cleansing sheet now, following the instructions in each section.

Why should I do it?

Cleansing must be completed by week 3 of your onboarding journey to reduce the risk of outdated, incorrect data migrating from your current MIS and negatively impacting your Go Live.
