Logging Into and using the Student App

The Arbor Student App allows students to access their calendars, in-app messages and more important information to help in day-to-day school life. If you have any questions regarding the usage of the Student App, please contact your school.

Downloading the student app

The newly released Arbor Student App is available for iOS and Android and can be used by primary and secondary school students once access to the app has been allowed by the school.

Logging in

When your school turns on the Student App, you can log into the app using your Student Portal login details. If you have not received your login details for the Student Portal, please contact your school.

You can also tap the Remember me button which allows you to use a biometric login (fingerprint or face ID) for future access, saving time in logging in.

Using the student app

Calendar

The calendar section allows students to see upcoming events recorded in their timetables such as lessons, lunches, and clubs. Each calendar event will display the name, the room, the time and date, and the staff member leading it.

To navigate through the calendar, you can tap on classes to see more information, swipe left and right to see past and future dates or tap on the dates at the top of the screen to jump straight to the selected date.

You can tap on the green bar below the calendar dates to expand this view and see the entire calendar month. You can swipe left and right to navigate through the calendar months or tap the arrows at the top of the screen to change the month.

You can also tap the Today button to return to the calendar for the current day.

Messages

The messages tab allows students to see all in-app messages that are sent to you by the school. Messages will show the subject on this page, and you can tap on a message to see its contents. There is currently no functionality to reply to in-app messages.

When viewing a message, tap the < arrow at the top-left of the page to return to your message inbox.

Ask Arbor

Please note: This feature is still in beta and some schools may not have this feature enabled. Please contact your school for more information.

Ask Arbor is a built-in AI helper that can answer questions inputted by students. Students can ask questions about upcoming lessons, and Ask Arbor will provide detailed answers advising students on what they need to know. For example, you can ask the Ask Arbor AI if you will need your P.E. kit at any point during the week, and Ask Arbor will advise you whether or not you have any P.E. lessons coming up.

Assignments, Attendance, and Behaviour

In the School section of the Student App, you can find Assignments, Attendance, and Behaviour. You can tap on these to view more information.

Assignments

In the Assignments section of the page, you can see a list of your Assignments, their due dates, and their status such as Submitted or Awaiting Submission.

You can tap on an assignment to see more details including the due date, the course that the assignment is for, and the instructions for the assignment.

Behaviour

The Behaviour section of the student app allows you to see all recorded behavioural incidents, and see trends over a week, term, or year. The arrow pointing up shows an increase in recorded incidents from the last week/term/year, two horizontal lines means that the same amount of incidents were recorded, and an upwards arrow means that the amount of incidents have increased.

You can also tap on Timeline at the top-right of the page to see a list of all recorded incidents and the dates that these occurred.

Attendance

You can view your attendance stats on this page and see if your attendance is better or worse than the week prior.

You can also tap the Week, Term, and Year buttons at the top of the page to see trends in your attendance over these time periods.

You can also see the lessons that you have attended in a list in the Timeline section at the top-right of the page. This allows you to select any date and see your attendance for each lesson on that day.

Account details and logging out

To see your account details, tap the three lines at the top-left of the screen and then select Account. Here, you can see your basic details and you also log out of the Student App.

If you are enrolled at multiple schools that have also activated their Student App, you can tap Switch Accounts to change which school you are logged into, allowing you to seamlessly view important information across sites without needing to fully log out and log back in again.
