This guide is designed for schools who are migrating from Bromcom to Arbor.
As well as completing your training and data cleansing within your current system, there are a few other checks to ensure you can successfully migrate to Arbor. We have listed them below:
Key Actions
Request a Data Backup from Bromcom
Ahead of your migration, please request a backup from Bromcom to be sent on your booked migration date. If you are unsure of your migration date, please reach out to the Digital Onboarding team to confirm: myonboarding@arbor-education.com or Secondaries can contact their Onboarding Manager.
Upload Your Backup
The Secure Upload Portal will be sent in two separate emails to your nominated Project Lead. The emails can be sent on to another appropriate staff member/IT Lead if you will not be carrying out the upload yourself. Find out more about uploading your data backup here.
Check User Permissions in your current System
It is important to ensure that all staff members have the correct business role in your current MIS. This helps to prevent any potential login issues once you receive your Arbor site. This is an area that we would advise you to review carefully once you receive your Arbor site. Further information on how we migrate business roles and permissions can be found here.
Receiving your Arbor Site
Once your migration has completed, your school’s Project Lead will receive an email with a link to your school’s Arbor site and details of any post-migration checks to complete.
Once happy for the rest of the team to log on, simply share your school’s URL and they will be able to log in for the first time, following the instructions here. As long as they have a valid business role and email address associated with their profile, they will be able to log in and set themselves a password.
We have put together some guides to help you set up your sites when these are released, please see below:
