When does my migration start and will I get access to my new Arbor MIS?

This article is designed for Primary and Special Schools and details when you should expect to gain access to your new Arbor MIS if you are migrating from SIMS or Bromcom.

Migration over a weekend

If you are migrating to Arbor over a weekend, your migration will take place on a Thursday.

We will start your migration at the end of the school day on Thursday and complete your migration over the course of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

When you will receive your new Arbor MIS:

  • We will release your site to you as soon as your migration is complete.

  • This means you may get access to your site before your official go-live date.

  • The latest you will receive access is 1pm on the following Wednesday.

How to manage attendance and important data during your migration

We recommend having paper registers handy for Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and a plan to ensure any key information added to your existing system is manually transferred once you get access to your Arbor site.

Migration during a school holidays

If you are migrating over a holiday, your migration will take place on your last day of term.

We will start your migration at the end of the school day on the last day of term, and complete your migration over the course of the holiday/school break.

When you will receive your new Arbor MIS:

  • We will release your site to you as soon as your migration is complete.

  • This means you may get access to your site before your official go-live date.

  • The latest you will receive access is 1pm on the last Friday of the holiday.

Can I keep using my old system once Arbor is live?

You should start using your new Arbor MIS as soon as we have released it to you and you should stop entering data into your old MIS. Any data added into your old MIS after your migration to Arbor begins won't be in Arbor. If you have added any data to your old MIS since your migration to Arbor began, you will need to manually add this into Arbor.
