Guardians can select a bill payer for payments on the Parent Portal, but changes must be made by school staff. A maximum of 3 bill payers is allowed. To edit bill payers, staff need specific permissions. The process includes accessing the student's profile, adjusting bill payer details, and saving changes. Any Guardian can be a bill payer if linked appropriately.
When Guardians are making payments on the Parent Portal they can select a bill payer. Guardians are unable to change, add or remove bill payers, but you can do this on the school's side.
Please note that you can only have a maximum of 3 bill payers.
Permissions
To be able to edit students' bill payers you'll need the permissions Finance: View and Finance: Administer permission. If you don't have permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.
Change the bill payer
- Go to the student's profile.
- Click on Payments, select the account and go to the Account Details page.
- Click on the bill payer.
Use the drop-down menus to adjust the bill payers as appropriate, then click Save Changes.
Add new bill payers
- Go to the student's profile.
- Click on Payments, select the account and go to the Account Details page.
- Click on the bill payer.
- Select another bill payer from the drop-down.
- Click Save Changes.
Who can we choose as the bill payer?
Any Guardian can be added as a bill payer regardless of if they are a Legal or Primary Guardian. If you need to add a new bill payer they will need to be first added as a linked Guardian. See how to add a new Guardian or Contact here.
Remove a bill payer
- Go to the student's profile.
- Click on Payments, select the account and go to the Account Details page.
- Click on the bill payer.
- Click the small cross next to the relevant bill payer.
- Click Save Changes.
