Arbor Finance Migration & Onboarding FAQ's

I am struggling to access the Arbor Finance Training Suite with the details you gave me?

Please make sure you are using the details in your Training Email.

You will have received some details from us regarding setting up your Schools Live Arbor Finance Schema. This is NOT used during training (but should be “activated” to create the space, into which we will migrate your data in a few weeks).

I am not seeing the emails referred to? I can’t access the training suite?

Please ensure your network/data manager/local network support partner has white listed RM Unify, Arbor and Arbor Finance, to ensure emails arrive and there are no issues when logging in to your training suite.

How long will I have access to the Training Suite and Training Centre?

Your Training Suite will be available to you for 2 weeks post go-live. We will email 48 hours before we need to turn off your access.

I am not going to be in school on the days available for live training – what do I do?

If you are away or not working for any reason, please contact your LA Support Team to review your training schedule/access a recording.

I work part-time and my sessions happen on days I don’t work, what do I do?

Let’s try and work it out so you can attend the in-person sessions.  Contact your LA Support Team for guidance.

I work part-time and don’t know how I can fit in the self-study?

The self-study sessions are designed to fit around the working day. Self-study sessions are broken down into bite-size chunks. It might be possible to do a few minutes a day.   If you are still concerned, please talk to the Local School Finance Support Team.

My colleagues help me with defined activities in our finance system - do they have to do all the training?

In short, no. We recommend all delegates complete self study 1 and live session 1. Having got a grounding in Arbor Finance, how it is structured, delegates can select modules that support their particular business function - maybe Expenditure (for purchase orders) and/or Payments if processing invoices is part of the role.

There is more than one delegate from our school – will we be training at the same time?

Training is generally completed at your own pace, as long as you are keeping up with the overall schedule so that the Clinics with our Specialist Trainers add to your knowledge. You will probably need to attend the clinics together, but the self study can be planned as you and your colleagues see fit.

We have multiple delegates attending all/part of the sessions – do we all have to have separate work areas during the live trainer led sessions?

No, you can work together in 1 space. You will all need headsets and join the session on your own laptops/PCs. If you plan to join via a link to the whole room, then remember to mute the sound on your individual laptops/PCs (not the mic’ but the “speaker”).

Our top tips for getting the most out of your live sessions are:

  • Identify a location where you will NOT be disturbed. If you share a space, or it is in a public area, please speak to your Headteacher to find a separate, more isolated environment to complete the live sessions, and if possible, work on the self-study content.
  • Use headphones, test that the microphone is active in the headset or in the PC.
    • If you are using a headset, do a test as sometimes PC mic’ creates an echo.
  • Check any webcam is functioning (ideally it should be turned on throughout the live webinar sessions).
  • Two screens – one to watch the session (or view the self-serve content) and the other to work on your copy of the training suite. You will be watching and practicing throughout.

Our school is moving to Arbor MIS at the same time as we move to Arbor Finance – is there any flexibility?

There is flexibility as we don’t want to overburden schools or staff.  Our Arbor MIS and Finance schedulers have worked together to avoid clashes but perhaps we’ve missed something ☹. If you are involved in the MIS operations, please email afmigration@arbor-education.com and we will contact  you to see what we can rearrange.
