Do staff training courses appear on calendars?
No, staff training course events do not appear in staff calendars. This means they won't flag as a clash and cover will not flag as being needed for the staff member's lessons.
If you would like to show staff training in calendars, you will need to set up an event: Creating and managing events.
Can we record staff CPD hours and times?
We don't have a dedicated area to record Continuing Professional Development hours for staff.
There are a few areas where you could record this information, but please note that you will not be able to analyse the time spent by staff doing CPD. You could:
- Add a note to an objective to log the hours
- Add a number UDF for staff
- Set up an event - these hours will then contribute to Other on the Teacher Hours report.
Why are Training Courses not showing in the Course Attendance page?
Training courses may not appear in the Course Attendance page if an event has not been created for the training. Ensure the course includes a date and time for attendance to be recorded properly.
A training course might not show in School > All Staff > Staff Development > Training Courses > Course Attendance.
This is because an event hasn't been created for the training to take place in. When a staff member is marked down as attending the event, the Training Course should show. If you need help creating a Training Course correctly, take a look at this article.
Make sure the Training Course has this additional section showing a date and time. Then any staff under the Persons Attending Course section will show on the Course Attendance page for that course.
How can I record staff attending different training events on different days?
There isn't a way in Arbor to add staff to one event within a training course.
- When you add staff to a training course, it will automatically add them to all events in the training course.
- When you add new events to a training course, all staff already on the training course will be added to the new event.
If you have different staff attending different events on a training course you can either:
- Set up one training course for each group of staff
- Set up an event to track the staff attending on different days
