Using the basket to make payments on the Parent App

This article details how you can add, review, and manage payments for Trips, Clubs, Meals, and School Shop items directly on the Arbor Parent App. 

Once you have logged into the Arbor App, tap Quick Actions and tap Clubs, Trips, School Shop, or Payments to browse available payment options. You can also navigate straight to your basket from here if you already have items in it. 


Adding items to Your Basket

To add different items to the basket in the Arbor App, see the sections below:

Adding a Trip to Your Basket

To add trips to your basket, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Trips section of the Parent App
    • Either scroll down to Activities near the bottom of the home screen and click Trips


       
    • Or, (1) click the three horizontal lines at the bottom of most screens to open Quick Actions/the Menu and (2) select Trips
       


       

  2. Browse the available trips (Trips open to) and select the one you would like to sign up for
  3. Click Sign up [child's first name] for trip
     


     

  4. Adjust the payment amount (if applicable)
  5. Tap Add to Basket
  6. Navigate to the basket via the Quick Actions or the Menu to finalise the payment, or continue adding items

Adding a Club to Your Basket

To add clubs to your basket, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Clubs section of the Parent App
    • Either scroll down to Activities near the bottom of the home screen and click Clubs


       
    • Or, (1) click the three horizontal lines at the bottom of most screens to open Quick Actions/the Menu and (2) select Trips
       


       

  2. Select the club you would like to register for
  3. Tap the green Register [child's name] for this club button toward the top of the screen


     
  4. Then use Tap to pick to select the Membership Option (the type of membership) you would like to sign your child up for.


     

  5. Select Next
  6. Select Tap to pick in the Select Membership Periods (the exact date(s) the membership type applies for)


     

  7. Select the preferred membership period(s) 


     
  8. Tap Apply
     


     

  9. Tap Next
  10. Review your selected options and scroll down the screen

  11. Tap Add to Basket
  12. Navigate to the basket via the Quick Actions or the Menu to finalise the payment, or continue adding items

A note on provisional memberships

Until you pay for the selected club, your child will be signed up as a provisional member. This means that although you can make further payments to the club and the child appears on the school list of potential participants, they are not confirmed and will not appear in the register. 

If you click the Cancel button, the child will be provisionally signed up, but the payment will not appear in your basket.

Adding a Meal or other Top-Up to Your Basket

To add a meal top-up to your basket, follow these steps:

  1. Open up the balance page for the account. You can use one of these routes:
     
    • Click the three horizontal lines (the Menu) at the bottom of most screens, select Payments, then tap the account (e.g. Meals).

       

    • Tap on the Total Outstanding amount on your Homescreen and select the account (e.g. Meals)


       
    • On the Homescreen, scroll down to Accounts, and select the account (e.g. Meals).


       
  2. Click the green Top Up Account button
     


     

  3. Complete the details on the Top-Up Details screen:
    • Select the Bill payer
    • Set the top-up amount (Payment amount)
    • Leave a Narrative note (optional)


       
  4. Tap Add to Basket
  5. Navigate to the Basket via the Quick Actions or the Menu where you can see the top-up under Account top-up

 

Adding an item from the School Shop to Your Basket

To add School Shop items to your basket, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the School Shop section of the app:
     
    • Either click the three horizontal lines (the Menu) at the bottom of most screens and select School Shop
       


       

    • Or, scroll down to the bottom of the Home screen and select School Shop Products


       
  2. Browse the available items (e.g. books, uniforms, etc.) and select the item you wish to purchase


     
  3. Tap to pick the quantity


     
  4. Tap Buy Product


     
  5. Select Add to basket.
  6. Navigate to the basket via the Quick Actions or the Menu to finalise the payment, or continue adding items

Viewing and editing Your Basket

To view the items in your basket, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the three horizontal lines (Quick Actions) in the bottom menu bar
  2. Select Basket

On the Basket screen, see an overview of items currently in the basket in the Summary section, with sub-menus for each type of purchase (e.g Clubs, Meals or Trips). 

Tap a sub-menu (e.g. School Shop) under Summary to see further details on those payment items.

Edit Items in the basket

  • Tap an item to adjust its details (e.g. payment amounts or notes, depending on the item). 

  • Tap Save Changes to confirm.

Remove items from the basket

  • Tap an item 
  • Select Delete From Basket. You will get the chance to review your choice before the item is deleted.

Top tip: If you want to clear your basket completely, use the Empty Basket button under Pay Now instead if remoing items individually.


Making a Payment

When you are ready to pay for the items in your basket, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Quick Actions > Basket.
    • Tap the three horizontal lines (Quick Actions) in the bottom menu bar (1)
    • Select Basket (2)


       

  2. Review the list of items in your basket.
  3. Click Pay Now


     

  4. Follow the instructions on screen to complete the payment. Your options are:
     
    • Enter card details manually
    • Scan a card
    • Use Apple Pay, Google Pay or OneLink


       
  5. Click Pay to confirm


     
  6. Once the payment is complete, the items in your basket will be cleared.

 


FAQ

Can I still use the basket on the Parent Portal?

Yes, the Basket feature will remain available on the Parent Portal for use on desktops.

Are payments made in real time?

Yes, payments are processed immediately upon confirmation.
