This article explains how to handle Error 2295 related to student exclusions in Arbor. It details the process for checking and adjusting a student's enrolment and exclusions, emphasizing that students should not be removed from the roll on the same day they are excluded. It also provides steps for submitting census data with the error present if necessary.
Due to the appeal process the pupil should not be removed off roll on the same day they are excluded (via permanent exclusion or suspension).
If you are unsure when to record a student's unenrolment when they have an exclusion, please contact the DfE for further guidance.
Arbor Solution:
- Go to the student's profile
- Click on Behaviour on the left
- Click on the tab for Exclusions
- Review the exclusions recorded for the student (you may need to adjust the date range back if the student left in a previous year)
Now check the student's enrolment:
- Click on Enrolment on the left
- In the section titled 'Enrolment' click on the most recent enrolment
- Click on the Edit button
- Change the end date to after the start date of the exclusion
If a suspension has been recorded as starting on the last good school day that a student is enrolled in your school, moving their leaving date will not remove the error. In this case, you will need to submit your census with error 2295 present, and provide a validation note to explain that the student has a suspension that started on their final day on roll.
If the student has a permanent exclusion, where the review has not yet been completed, you can exclude it from the census by following these steps:
- Click on the exclusion
- Click on the Edit button
- Tick the Do not return in school census button
