COLLECT error - An error occurred uploading the file

When trying to upload your Census XML file into COLLECT, you may receive this message: An error occurred uploading the file. Please contact your system administrator.

It will include a line such as PartnerUKPRN, value= _ for LearningAimsOnRoll and a message saying something such as Unable to convert or Input string was not in a correct format.

This error appears when the UKPRN for a Linked Organisation has been incorrectly set to a figure that includes non-number characters and/or is not 8 characters long.

You will need the School: Data Returns: Administer to follow these steps and correct the UKPRN:

1. Go to School > Linked Organisations > Educational Institutions.
2. Click on the Linked Organisation in question.
3. In the Educational Institution Details section, scroll down to the Provider Reference Number (UKPRN) field and click on it.
4. Input the correct UKPRN and click Save Changes.

Once you have corrected this, regenerate your census. Download your census again and re-submit the new file.
