Learning Paths on Northpass

A Learning Path is a curated set of courses that users will see in The Arbor Training Hub.

This article will help you understand the different learning paths available and which training courses are part of each learning path.

When you have an account on the Training Hub, you'll be able to choose from any of the below learning paths based on your school phase.

Learning path types, descriptions and business roles associated 

Primary Learning Paths

Below is a summary of each Learning Path available for Primary Schools, and an overview of which Business Role we recommend completes each one, however, all staff will have access to all learning paths so they can customise their training journey.

Project Lead (Primary Deep Dive Learning Path)

This learning path includes all of the Arbor Foundations training, which covers everything you need to know to manage the day-to-day at your school and ensure a successful go-live.

Because this learning path includes all the available Arbor Foundations courses, you can also use this to see what training other staff at your school will need and support them throughout the onboarding.

This learning path is aimed at the School Project Lead (the person managing the Arbor Onboarding).

Bursar/Business Manager This learning path is designed to onboard an Arbor user who takes up a Business Manager, Bursar, HR, or Finance role at the school. It has courses based on Student, Guardian, and Staff Management and a deep dive into the Single Central Register, Pay Scales, and Contract Management tools.

Primary Assessment Lead

This learning path is aimed at Assessment Leads, to provide an overview of key reporting elements in Arbor such as User Defined Fields, Custom Groups, School Reporting areas, and the Custom Report Writer, as well as an overview of the system and attendance

SENCo

This learning path is aimed at the SENco to give an overview of all relevant student areas, including managing the student profile and adding further information to the student profile such as SEN information. Also included are the basics of Attendance and Reporting in Arbor.

SEN Co-ordinator

Head Teacher This learning path is designed for School Leaders to help learn Arbor navigation basics and attendance in Arbor and provides a deep dive into communication, reporting, and data analysis tools. Deputy Head Teacher

Secondary Learning Paths

Below is a summary of each Learning Path available for Secondary Schools, and an overview of which Business Role we recommend completes each one, however, all staff will have access to all learning paths so they can customise their training journey.

Project Lead (Secondary Deep Dive)

This learning path includes all available Arbor Foundation training sessions. It will allow the user to have a whole overview of courses to be fully informed on what is available to other school users and the opportunity to complete any relevant/required courses to support school transition and other users. This course is specifically designed for the project lead role who is leading the school transition to Arbor.

This learning path is designed to support the onboarding of the users with various admin roles in schools, from office and reception staff to Education Welfare Officers or Youth Workers. It will include courses to focus on student, guardian, and staff data management, attendance and communication modules and reporting tools.

Business Manager This learning path is designed to onboard an Arbor user who takes up a business manager, HR, finance, or cover manager role. It has courses based on all student, guardian and staff management and a deep dive into the single central register, pay scale, and contract management tools. Bursar/Business Manager

This learning path will include the majority of all the onboarding courses available to schools in onboarding. The path is designed in mind with a user role that needs access to various areas of the system, mainly to support your data-checking activities during onboarding and cover all data management and reporting tools available for you on Arbor.

This learning path will focus on the exam module, from exam setup and timetabling to module and result management. It is an all-round exam module overview that will help users to prepare to manage the exam module at any time of the migration.

Attendance Officer This learning path includes foundation courses that will cover basic student & guardian profile management and have a deep dive into the attendance module: including attendance module overview, management, and reporting tools. This course is designed for Attendance officers. Attendance Officer
Timetabler

This learning path focuses entirely on timetable management, with additional courses in Secondary attendance and Custom reporting. This course is to be attended by the user who will be managing and updating timetables in the school.

SENCo This learning path includes foundation training courses that will help the user learn navigation in Arbor and also cover role-specific courses, with a deeper dive into student profiles and how to add and manage SEN data, together with some operation modules such as communication, interventions, and reporting tools. This is designed for the SEN Co-ordinator role.

MAT Learning Paths

Below is a summary of each Learning Path available for MATs and an overview of which Arbor Business Role will determine who is enrolled in that Learning Path.

MAT CEO

This learning path is for CEOs to gain an overview of school-level functionality. Your nominated Project Lead will also be booking your 1-1 training on the MAT MIS if purchased.

This learning path includes foundation training courses that will help the user learn navigation in the Arbor school MIS and also cover role-specific courses, with a deeper dive into staff profiles, contracts, and pay scales. This is designed for the central MAT HR role. We also have a specific course dedicated to HR at the MAT level. Your Project Lead will be booking this if purchased.

HR Administrator

MAT Assessment Lead

This learning path includes foundation training courses that will help the user learn navigation in the Arbor school MIS. You will usually purchase 1-1 bespoke training for assessments in addition which is a deeper dive into your requirements.

This learning path is designed for school leaders to help learn Arbor navigation on the school MIS. We have a deeper dive session on the MAT MIS that you may have purchased. Please check in with your Project Lead to discuss this.

This learning path is designed in mind with a user role that needs access to various areas of the system, mainly to support your data-checking activities during onboarding and cover all data management and reporting tools available for you on Arbor.
You may have also purchased the dedicated MAT MIS training to understand and use the live aggregation of data and tasks you will complete at a central level.
