Complete a Staff Appraisal

An Appraisal is a review of the appraisee’s work, objectives and what they need to do to improve their performance.

Please note that Objectives and Appraisals are included in our Perform packages. All other Arbor packages won’t have this feature by default. Want to upgrade or find out what package you’re on? Just get in contact with your Account Manager.

Permissions

  • Staff HR Performance Management Administer - see all appraisals and objectives for staff.
  • Administer Assigned Appraisals - you can only see the appraisal you have your name assigned to as an appraiser and you will only be able to see the on-going objectives for the staff member in that appraisal.
  • Appraisal: Administer and Objective: Administer - see and add information to your own appraisals and objectives.

If you don't have permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.

Completing an appraisal

If all objectives have been met, you can then click the Complete appraisal button to end the appraisal.

The date the appraisal was marked as completed will then appear in the Complete Appraisals tab on the Appraisals page at School > All Staff > Staff Development > Appraisals.

Please note that for completed appraisals, it isn't possible to set them back as incomplete.

What happens to the objectives when an appraisal is completed?

We show all ongoing objectives within an Appraisal so that you can review them all if needed.

If you don't want to review a certain objective in an appraisal, ignore it. Any objectives you don't select an outcome for will continue to appear as Ongoing and will appear in subsequent appraisals.

The objectives you do decide to review and mark as met, not met etc will then be saved against that appraisal. These reviewed objectives will then appear in the Previous Objective tabs the completed review details page for your reference.
