Can we track student daily behaviour report cards in Arbor?

The article explains how to track student behavior using the Behaviour Notes feature in Arbor, as there is no dedicated daily behavior report card system. It details permissions required, how to create and manage behavior notes, and how to report on them. It also mentions that behavior notes can be displayed on the Parent Portal and Arbor App.

If you are unable to use a 3rd party or a paper report card, you could use our Behaviour Notes feature to track basic details for a student.

Permissions

• One of the Student: Behaviour: Administer permissions - Add behaviour notes and get an Alert when a behavioural note is pinned for one of your linked students
• School: General Admin: Administer - Make behaviour notes show on the Parent Portal and Arbor App

If you don't have the permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.

Creating the behaviour note

To add a note for a student, go to the Behaviour section of their student profile. Go to the Behaviour Notes tab and click +Add.

Add in the details, and choose whether to pin it to the top of the student profile.

Please note that behaviour notes do not automatically unpin themselves, so you'll need to unpin the item by clicking into it and deselecting the box.

Adding details to the behaviour note

If you have chosen to show pinned notes on lesson dashboards (you can see how to do this here), teachers will be able to see the pinned behaviour note in the Students list.

Teachers can click the student's name to visit their student profile and fill in the behaviour note. Teachers can edit the behaviour note by clicking into it on the student's profile and clicking Edit.

Reporting on the behaviour notes

You can report on behaviour notes in the Custom Report Writer. Just create your report and select that the report is about Behavioural notes.

The report will automatically show the student's name, and the date, summary and content of the Behavioural note, but you can add additional columns and filters as needed.

For parents and guardians

Behaviour notes can be shown on the Parent Portal And Arbor App if your school uses this. You can turn this on in your Parent Portal Settings. 

They can view this from the Behaviour section of the child's profile.
