Permissions
You'll need the School: Academic Structure: Administer permission to make amendments to school structure, such as editing courses and adding linked assessments. If you don't have permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.
To link a summative assessment to a course, you will need to head to School > Programmes > Courses and click into the relevant course.
You can then scroll to the bottom of the course overview to find the Assessment Characteristics section. It should look like this!
Click on Assessable Course to bring up a slide-over where you can edit the course's assessment details.
When a course is marked as assessable, all course modules are automatically made assessable as well - this means it is only necessary to mark top-level courses as assessable. So the ability to toggle this can be useful for when ad-hoc assessments are issued on a per-course basis.
You will then need to select the assessment from the Linked Assessments drop-down menu in the slide-over. Click Save Changes to link this assessment to the course.
The list of available assessments in this drop-down is dependent on the assessments that have been set up for the academic year.
To unset the course and mark the course as no longer assessable, untick the box.
You can head to Students > Assessments > Annual Policy > Assessable Courses to see a full list.
