This article explains how to delete a detention session and a detention type, detailing the necessary permissions and steps involved in the process.
Permissions
- School: Behaviour: Behaviour Policy - Choose how detentions can be assigned, delete, edit or change the time of a single detention session and delete a detention type
- School: Behaviour: Administer - Delete, edit or change the time of a single detention session and delete a detention type
- Student Profile: Detention: Administer all students - Manage all detentions from the School > Behaviour > Detentions page, and delete a detention session
If you don't have the right permissions, ask your admin team to assign them to you.
Delete a detention session
You are able to delete a detention session by following the steps in the Changing when or where the session happens, or deleting the session section of this article here: Managing Detentions and adding students to a detention.
Delete a detention type
If there are timetable slots for the detention type, you will need to remove these before you are able to delete the detention type. Go to Students > Behaviour > Set Up.
Click into the Detentions tab and click the Detention Type that needs to be deleted.
Click into one of the timetable slots and choose the Edit button from the slide over. It’s important to read the notice at the top of the slide over before you delete the slot.
Once you are sure you need to delete the slot click Delete Timetable slot. Repeat this process until all the timetable slots are removed.
Once all the timetable slots are removed a red Delete button will appear on the detention type page. Click the Delete button to delete the detention type.
