What is the In-App Payments guide?
The In-App Payments guide is Arbor's one-stop shop for helping you manage and set up payments, all without ever leaving your trusty MIS! Use this to help you roll out card payments, get the most out of your current payment setup and much, much more!
Who can access the guide?
Anyone who has access to the Arbor Payments pages on school sites that the guide is built into can see the In-App Help Guide. In practice, this means you need Finance: Finance: Administer and Finance: Finance: View to access the guide widget (depending on the page, you might only need the View permission). If you don't have permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.
Accessing the In-App Help Guide
Pages with the guide
The In-App Help Guide can be accessed from any of the following pages (and their subpages) in Arbor:
- School > Payments > Accounts
- School > Payments > Reconciliations
- School > Payments > Setup
Note: You cannot find the help guide on School Shop payments pages under School > Payments > School Shop.
Opening the guide
To access the guide:
- Navigate to any of the pages listed in the previous section
- Look for a small green circle with the words Need payments Help? (by default in the bottom right corner of the page, but the widget can be dragged and dropped to a location of your choosing)
- Click the green circle
The guides, links, and checklists now appear as a widget on your screen.
If you navigate to a different page that also has access to the guide, without the guide closing. If you navigate to a page that does not have access to the guide (for example, your Homepage) the guide disappears off-screen and needs to be reopened once you navigate to a payments page that does have the guide.
Navigating the guide
You can work through the suggestions sequentially or click on areas of interest. You can expand the guide widget by clicking the expansion icon in the top left corner of the widget. To close the widget, use one of the close buttons (top right corner of the guide and the circle below the open guide)
The main sections in the guide are:
- A Payments checklist to help guide you through the payments setup
- Click on one of the steps in the checklist to see what to check and complete during this step, how to do this and where to find further resources
- Close a step in the checklist to mark it as complete
- Click View All to refer back to previously completed steps
- Links to Arbor HQ and Learning resources
- A search function to help you find useful Help Centre guidance
- Links to recommended Payment setup guidance in Arbor's Help Centre
FAQs
Does the guide save my checklist progress?
The Guide doesn’t save progress, but there is no limit to how often the guide can be accessed, so if you do lose your progress, you can easily navigate back to where you were.
Can I move the guide to?
Yes, you can drag and drop the widget to an on-screen location of your choosing.
Why can't I find the guide?
The guide only appears on certain pages, so make sure you are on one of the pages outlined in the Pages with the guide section.
Please also check that the widget has not inadvertently moved from its default place (bottom right corner), as it could be there but just in an unexpected place.
