We have changed how parents and schools make payments in Arbor. Where you would previously see a Make Payment pop-up to enter card details, you are now taken to a new page to complete a payment, with the option to use saved details or to use Apple or Google Pay. This guide explains the changes and the areas these changes will affect.
What screens changed?
When you click on a payment item, either within the MIS as a staff member or through the Parent Portal or Parent App as a guardian, you will no longer see a pop-up like the one below.
Instead, you will be taken to a separate screen to complete the purchase.
Which payment options have changed?
On the new payment screen, you can complete a payment or top-up by entering your card details as you would have before, with the option to securely save them for faster checkout next time using Onelink.
If you already have Onelink, you can use the green Pay with Onelink button to confirm the purchase instead of manually entering your details. Additionally, you are now be able to use Apple Pay and Google Pay on the web versions of Arbor whether making a payment as a parent or staff member.
What is Onelink?
Onelink is available in the new checkout steps to allow schools to save their card details and check out faster. The service is offered by Stripe, our established payment provider, and is very secure.
This aims to make the checkout process for both guardians and schools faster without compromising security. The use of Onelink is optional; you still have the opportunity to manually enter your card details, and your details are not saved for next time if you do not tick the Save my information for faster checkout box.
When did this change?
This change is now live on the school MIS, Parent Portal and on the Parent App for all schools. The old payment flow was switched off on 5 August 2026.
If you're on an older version of the Parent App and can't see the new checkout page, update the app to the latest version.
Which areas will this affect?
This was rolled out to all areas in Arbor where card payments are taken. This change affects how Guardians and Staff alike make card payments.

- School shop
- Trips
- Clubs
- Basket
Who has this changed for?
This change applied to all schools using Arbor Payments (incl. those on the 2026 Comms package).
