Upcoming changes to Arbor's card payments screens and options (Onelink)

We are changing how parents and schools make payments in Arbor. Where you would previously see a Make Payment pop-up to enter card details, you will now be taken to a new page to complete a payment with the option to use saved details or to use Apple or Google Pay. This guide explains the changes and the areas these changes will affect.

What screens are changing?

When you click on a payment item, either within the MIS as a staff member or through the Parent Portal or Parent App as a guardian, you will no longer see a pop-up like the one below.

Instead, you will be taken to a separate screen to complete the purchase.

Which payment options are changing?

Once you're on the new payment screen, you can complete a payment or top-up by entering your card details as you would have before, with the option to securely save them for faster checkout next time using Onelink.

If you already have Onelink, you can use the green Pay with Onelink button to confirm the purchase instead of manually entering your details. Additionally, you will now be able to use Apple Pay and Google Pay on the web versions of Arbor whether making a payment as a parent or staff member.

What is Onelink?

Onelink will be available in the new checkout steps to allow schools to save their card details and check out faster. The service is offered by Stripe, our established payment provider, and is very secure.

This aims to make the checkout process for both guardians and schools faster without compromising security. The use of Onelink is optional; you still have the opportunity to manually enter your card details, and your details are not saved for next time if you do not tick the Save my information for faster checkout box.

When is this changing?

These changes are being rolled out throughout Jun 2026, in stages. Web pages used to make payments on your MIS or on the Parent Portal are changing first. These changes will also become available on the Parent App towards the end of June.

Which areas will this affect?

This will be rolled out to all areas in Arbor where card payments are taken. This change affects how Guardians and Staff alike make card payments.

Here are the areas in the web version of Arbor that are changing for schools and guardians (Parent Portal) :

  • Top-ups
  • School account top-ups
  • School shop
  • Trips
  • Clubs
  • Basket

Towards the end of June, we will also push the changes through to the Parent App.

Who is this changing for?

This change applies to all schools using Arbor Payments (incl. those on the 2026 Comms package). Parents with students at schools on our Perform package will continue to have access to Apple and Google Pay via the app while we roll this out to all schools and parents using the Parent App.
