Students and guardians can view teacher assignments and registration forms for the new academic year through the Parent Portal and Student Portal after completing the New School Year Setup process. Guardians can check teacher details via the Calendar, but only for the next academic year. To delay access to this information, schools can postpone completing the setup steps.
When working through the New School Year Setup process, you'll be asked to:
- indicate the teachers for your classes in Step 3 (Year Groups and Registration Forms).
- schedule registers in Step 6.
Once you complete Step 6, parents will be able to access information about the student's registration form, classes and teachers via the Parent Portal and Parent App.
Where can users see these details?
Guardians
Guardians who have access to the Parent Portal will be able to check who the teacher is from the Calendar by clicking ahead to a week in the next academic year.
Please note you can only see the next academic year in the Parent Portal, not in the Parent App.
You can see more information about this here: The Calendar and timetable on the Parent Portal and Parent App
Students
Students who have access to the Student Portal will be able to check who the teacher is from the Calendar by clicking ahead to a week in the next academic year.
You can see more information about what students can see here: The Student Portal
Can I prevent users from accessing this data before a specific date?
If it's just the teacher you don't want guardians to see yet, promote the students to the right registration forms (Step 3) and schedule registers (Step 6) for the next year now but assign the teacher at a later date (skip this part of Step 3).
See our article on assigning teachers for steps to enable you to do this at a later date.
If you want to completely prevent guardians from accessing information about their child's class or teacher before a specified time you would have to delay completing Step 6 until that date.
