Keep students in Nursery when promoting year groups

This article explains how to promote nursery students during the New School Year Setup process, emphasizing that all nursery students should initially be promoted to reception, and then adjustments can be made for those remaining in nursery. It details the steps to correct year group placements after promotion.

When completing step 3 of the New School Year Setup process, you need to promote students into the year groups and registration forms they'll be in next year. For nursery students, not all of your nursery students will be moving into reception, so what do you do?

All you need to do is promote the students as if they were all moving up into reception. You can then move students who are staying in nursery back into the nursery class.

Once you've promoted all the students, select step 5 to tweak year group enrolments or step 7 to tweak registration form enrolments.

Look for the students that you need to move into a different year group, for example, if there's a student showing as in Reception for next year but they should have stayed in N2.

Click on the year group next to their name, and change this back to the nursery year.
