This article explains how to identify and fix errors in postal addresses using the Data Quality Dashboard. It details the types of issues that can be flagged (Incomplete, Error, Warning) and provides instructions on how to amend or ignore these issues. It also advises on rechecking addresses after making changes and ignoring known correct addresses.
You can use the Data Quality Dashboard to see potential issues with Postal Addresses.
1. Go to School > Data > Data Quality Dashboard
2. Select Students, Guardians or Staff from the left-hand menu
3. Click Contact Details > Postal Addresses.
What system is used to check addresses?
We use a database called Loqate (previously called Postcode Anywhere) to check addresses.
What are the issues that can be flagged?
There are three issues that can be flagged with addresses:
- Incomplete - The address is missing. Click on the address to add it.
- Error - The address couldn't be found. You can either amend the address or ignore the error (see the section below)
- Warning - There's a formatting issue with the address. Click on the address to see suggestions and amend it.
Incomplete
Click on the error to add a new address.
Error
Click on the error. In the slide over, you can amend the information, or choose to ignore the error.
Warning
Click on the error. In the slide over, you can see our suggestions for improvements. You can either save the suggestions, or choose to ignore the error.
The errors are still showing?
If you've made any changes to addresses, we recommend running the check again. Tick the boxes next to the addresses, then click the Bulk action button to choose Bulk Recheck.
Can we ignore errors for addresses we know are correct?
Tick the boxes next to the addresses, then click the Bulk action button to choose Bulk Ignore.
