How do I change teachers for classes and courses?

Courses

This option is more geared towards schools with a timetable set up in Arbor (mainly secondary & special schools).  If your school has only registration sessions for AM and PM classes, please see the section on classes.

If this is linked to subjects within the timetable, select School > Programmes > (appropriate academic year) Courses.  Select the appropriate course, opening up ‘+’ options as necessary within subjects to get to the class for which you want to change the teacher. 

Click on the existing incorrect teacher under ‘Academic lead’.  Choose edit and amend the end date of the incorrect form tutor to reflect the appropriate dates. Save Changes.

If the staff member should be removed from all related modules, the box for 'apply for component modules' should be ticked.

Once the staff member has been removed or had an end date inputted, they will no longer have the registers in their calendar but will also no longer be able to access the registers for this course

If the staff member has the permission Attendance: Administer All Students they will still be able to access all registers but they will no longer appear in their calendar.

To add a new academic lead, click the +Add button. On the slide over that appears, select the name of the staff member of the list, the start and end date (If applicable) and also if you would like them to be the lead for all modules linked as mentioned above.

Click 'Add Lead' and then this staff member will be a lead for the class and will be able to access all the registers from My Items > My Calendar/My Classes.

 

Replace academic leads in bulk  

Go to Students > Enrolment > Courses > Table View. Tick the boxes down the left-hand side of the courses you want to change the academic lead for, and click the little blue pencil icon to Bulk Update Academic Leads.

Classes

Primary Schools:

Select Students > Enrolment > Registration forms. Choose the class. Click into the existing teacher under ‘Form Tutors’.  Choose edit and amend the end date of the incorrect form tutor to reflect the appropriate dates. Save Changes.

Choose ‘Add’ on the right-hand side of the form tutor box.  Select the staff member who teaches this class and dates associated as appropriate.  Select the tickbox assign to courses’.

Select School > Programmes > (correct academic year) Courses.  Select the appropriate course (opening up ‘+’ options as necessary).  Check the academic lead has been updated with the correct teacher.

Note: You may need to end the previous teacher’s details within ‘Academic Lead’ here.

 

Secondary Schools:

Registration Forms

If this issue is linked to a registration form, please follow the same method defined above for primary schools.
