Add, change or remove Head of House

This article explains how to add, change, or remove a Head of House in Arbor, detailing the necessary permissions, steps to edit pastoral leads, and limitations on staff assignments to houses.

Although there is a business role for Head of House, assigning this business role will not link the staff to the students (for example, for My Homepage).

To assign someone as a Head of House, you must link them to the house. Once you have assigned these, you can use them all over Arbor! Send Mail Merges to students’ heads of house, or choose to notify them when a behaviour incident is logged.

Permissions

You will need the School: Pastoral Structure: Administer permission to manage houses. If you don't have the permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.

Where to go

  • Go to Students > Enrolment > Pastoral > Houses
  • Make sure you select the right year from the Academic Year drop-down menu in the top right corner
  • Click the house you want to edit

Can we assign other staff to houses?

It isn't possible to add staff to houses outside of making them a Head of House.
