Understand Arbor Workflows and getting support

This guide explains what Arbor Workflows are, how they are available across different School and Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) tiers, and the best ways to get support with Arbor Workflows and where to find the Arbor Workflows Help Centre.


What is Arbor Workflows?

Arbor Workflows allow you to turn everyday manual processes - like sending emails, requesting documents and updating your systems - into automatic actions that Arbor runs for you again and again.

By removing manual steps, your central teams and school staff can save valuable time and effort.

Common processes you can automate include:

  • Managing budget approvals 
  • Streamlining staff onboarding
  • Booking a minibus or other school resources

Who can use Arbor Workflows?

From March 2026, Arbor Workflows is a core addition to every 2026 Arbor MIS package. It isn't a separate, standalone product; rather, it is a powerful engine built directly into your ecosystem to help you automate processes—from simple leave requests and student admissions to complex MAT-wide compliance checks.

Any School or MAT with a contract start or renewal date after March 2026 will automatically be placed in a package with access to Arbor Workflows. 

If you are not on one of our new packages, you will get access to Arbor Workflows once your contract renews or if you choose to upgrade sooner.

Which Arbor Workflows features are included in each Arbor tier?

The features available to you in Arbor Workflows depend on your specific tier. We have tailored these tiers to meet the different needs of individual Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs). 

For schools and MATs on our newest tiers, the following Arbor Workflow features are included.

For Schools:

  • Core: Perfect for simple processes, allowing for two-step workflows and access to our basic template library.

  • Comms: Expands your capabilities to 5-step workflows, including decisions, forms, and the ability to "Send Something" directly to your MIS.

  • Perform: Our most powerful school tier, allowing up to 15 steps, advanced conditional logic (e.g., auto-approvals or skipping steps), checklists, and workflow delays.

For Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs):

  • Essentials: Provides central team oversight and the ability to view school-level workflows.

  • Plus: Allows MAT leaders to "Push Down" standardised workflows to all schools, access an Analytics Dashboard, and update the Arbor MIS centrally.

  • Advanced: Our premium tier for complex operations, including third-party software integrations (Google/Microsoft), archiving features, and advanced data syncing.

How can I get support with Workflows?

Our dedicated Arbor Workflows Help Centre is your one-stop shop for all things Arbor Workflow, with tons of helpful guides, how-tos and examples!

Want to speak to someone or seek more in-depth support? The way you contact us depends on whether you currently use Arbor MIS.

For Arbor MIS customers 

If you already use Arbor MIS, you can reach out via our usual channels or reach out to your Support Partner if your support is not provided by Arbor.

The easiest way to contact our Support Team is with a chat message:

  • Click the chat icon on the main Arbor MIS Help Centre (for example, in the left-hand corner of this page)

  • Alternatively, use the chat directly within your school’s Arbor site while logged in by clicking the speech bubble in the bottom-left corner

For non-Arbor MIS customers 

If you do not currently use Arbor MIS but are using the Arbor Workflows platform, you can still reach out for help:
