Who are report cards sent from and how can I change this?
When sending report cards via email, these will automatically be sent from the sender's default email address. You won't be able to change this email address or send it on behalf of someone else or the school from here. However, to send it from a different email address you have two options.
Go to your own staff profile and go to the Contact details section. You can either:
- Add a new email address and set this as the default, send out the report cards, then set your original email address back as the default
- Change your email address, send out the report cards, then change your email address back again
If you don't have the option to edit your own email address, you can either ask your admin team to change it for you or ask them to follow this article to give you the Contact Details: Administer permission (this will also give the staff member the permission to edit all staff contract details).
You can create a fake staff profile following the instructions in this article. Set the name as the name you want to send the email from, such as your school name. Be sure to give them a business role that has the Report card: Administer permission so you'll be able to access and send out report cards.
Exclude the profile from the census by going to Contracts on the left-hand menu of their profile and setting this to No.
On their main profile page, add an email address to the Contact Details section. This should be the email address you want to send the report cards from. If this is not the only email address make sure you click it again to tick the box to set it as the default email address.
Click their account in the User Details section to manually set a password for the account so you won't need to do this when logging in for the first time.
Set the password, and you can then log out of your account, and log into Arbor using the dummy account email address and password. You'll then be able to send the report card from this account's email address.
