Query 2502Q

This article addresses the issue of recording zero attendance sessions for students, clarifying that this should only occur if a student was at another school or not expected to attend. It provides guidance on deleting student profiles for those who never attended and emphasizes the need for a suitable explanatory note in COLLECT for the DfE. It also advises checking the academic calendar to ensure proper holiday coverage and term end dates.

Please check: Zero attendance sessions possibly recorded.

A pupil should only be recorded with zero sessions possible if they spent all of the period which attendance data is being collected at another school or were not expected to be in school.

If you have a student who never attended sessions at your school and left, you can delete their student profile: Delete a student profile

Please review your Summary Inspection Report. This query will be accepted by DfE on condition that a suitable explanatory notepad entry is provided in COLLECT.

Multiple students are flagging with this query

You may find that all of your year 6 or year 11 students are flagging this query.

If so, go to School > School Structure > Academic Years and select last year.

  • Make sure you have added a holiday to cover the whole summer break period.
  • Make sure that your summer term ends on the last day of school (in July, not the last day in August).

You can see how to do this here: Amending the Academic Calendar
