Can I change if students can submit their assignments via Arbor or in person?

This article explains how to change the submission method for student assignments in Arbor, allowing for either online submissions via the Student Portal or in-person submissions. It provides step-by-step instructions for admins and teachers to modify the assignment settings and save changes.

You may want to enable students to submit their assignments via the Student Portal or keep it to an in-person submission. If you change your mind about this, you can follow our steps below to change this for an assignment.

Changing the assignment so it can't be submitted via Arbor will also enable you to change the assignment's submission status in bulk using the tick boxes and Bulk action button. More on that in our article on Marking an assignment or changing the submission status.

  • Admins - Head to the course the assignment is for (you can search for it in the search bar on the top right)
  • Teachers - Go to My Items > My Classes and click Assignments in the correct class.

1. Click on the assignment in the Assignments section.

2. Click Markbook on the slide-over that appears.

3. Click into the Title in the Assignment Details section at the top of the screen.

4. In this slide-over, untick or tick the Submit via Arbor option.

5. Scroll down the slide-over
