How to access the curriculum markbook

There are different places you can access assessments from, depending on your permissions and how your assessments have been set up. You must have already set up either default or custom assessments to use the markbooks.

Please note that Formative Assessment is included in the Perform package. All other Arbor packages won’t have this feature by default. Want to upgrade or find out what package you’re on? Just get in contact with your Account Manager.

Permissions

  • Assessments: Administer - Set up and edit assessments, and access them as an administrator
  • School: Curriculum: Administer - Set up and edit assessments, and access them as an administrator (lower permissions than the one above)
  • Student Profile: Assessments: Administer All/My Students - View and mark curriculum assessments
  • Student Profile: Assessments: View All/My Students - View curriculum assessments

If you don't have the permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.

Teachers

From the Lesson Dashboard

Select the lesson in your calendar, then select Assessment from the left hand menu. Select the assessment from the Formative Tracking tab.

I can't select the assessment from the Lesson Dashboard or My Items > My Classes

If you can't access the assessment from the lesson dashboard, you'll need to check a few things.

Check your permissions and access

Check you have the permissions to administer assessments for this class - ask your administrative team to add you as an Academic Lead for the class.

Check the link between the assessment and the class

To check the class an assessment has been linked to the class, go to Students > Assessments > Annual Policy > Manage Assessments. Using the ‘+’ icon next to the assessment name, you can expand the assessment and select the right assessment.

In the assessment overview, scroll down to the Students section. Here I can see that I've only linked it to a registration form.

Make sure that you add a course to the Linked Courses section.

Check the course is assessable

Go to Students > Assessments > Annual Policy > Assessable Courses and check that the course is marked as assessable.

Once you've accessed the curriculum markbook, you can add marks: Entering marks and evidence in Curriculum Tracking

You can also edit or remove marks or evidence: Seeing, editing and removing evidence of Curriculum Tracking
