Traveller status

This article explains how to add, edit, or delete traveller status for students in their profiles, including permissions required and reporting options for students with traveller status.

You can add a traveller status to student profiles. Please note that this cannot be updated in bulk.

Permissions

  • Student Profile: Background: Administer All Students - Add or edit FSM eligibility for all students.
  • Student Profile: Background: Administer My Students - Add or edit FSM eligibility students assigned to the user.

If you don't have the permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.

 

Add traveller status

To add a traveller status to a student, go to their student profile and scroll down to the Background section.

Click +Add and select Assign Traveller Status.

Select from:

  • Gypsy/Roma (Housed)
  • Gypsy/Roma (Travelling)
  • Occupational Traveller
  • Traveller (Other)

Add the start and end date or leave blank if ongoing.

Add the information source if needed or leave blank. Select from:

  • Provided by the child
  • Provided by the parent
  • Ascribed by the current school
  • Ascribed by a pervious school
  • Other

Students with a current traveller status will show a demographic indicator tag at the top of their profile.

Edit or delete traveller status

Go to their student profile and scroll down to the Background section. Click on the traveller status and click Edit.

Report on students with traveller status

Go to Students > Demographics > Derived Indicators and select Background.

Select Gypsy / Roma / Traveller in the filters.
