Inputting marks from paper registers into Arbor

If you have recently migrated to Arbor and have paper registers that you need to input the marks for, you can add these marks in bulk to update your records more quickly.

Permissions

You will need the Student Profile: Action: Attendance: Administer All Students permission. If you don't have permission, you'll need to ask your admin team to give you permission using these instructions.

Adding marks in bulk

To add marks in bulk, go to one of the following pages:

  • Students > Attendance > Registers > Bulk Edit Marks Standard
  • Students > Attendance > Registers > Bulk Edit Marks Advanced (this option has the same functionality as the Standard page, but also allows you to input information on Interventions and Internal Exclusions)

On either page, click the filter at the top of the page and select a student group and date range to input marks for in the table.

Each row in the table is a different student, and each column represents a period in the day with an associated register.

Once you select your student group and date range and click Save Changes, the table populates with student names and their timetable slots.

Each row in the table is a different student, and each column represents a period in the day with an associated register. When marks are inputted, they appear in this table next to the updated student in the appropriate register column.

To bulk fill attendance marks:

  • Tick the boxes next to the students' names you want to set the same mark for
  • Click the green Bulk Action button
  • Select Bulk Set Present/Late/Absent

  • On the pop-up that opens, you see several tick boxes for each roll call period that this change will affect and also which periods will be changed as well.

These boxes are ticked by default so that you can quickly make the necessary changes, but if you want any roll call or period not to be updated for any reason, untick it
  • Click Bulk Set Marks to finalise

Once this has been done, the table will populate with the student's given marks.

Please note that this process can take a few moments, and it is possible that you may see an error message if you change too many marks at once. For this reason, it is recommended that this is done per class/registration form.
