Exporting results to Primary Assessment Gateway or the LA
If you want to be able to create CTFs to export this data to Primary Assessment Gateway or an LA, please note that you should not follow the process outlined below.
Please follow the guidance outlined in this article: Completing the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP)
If you need to transfer marks across, you'll need to enter them or copy and paste them from one assessment to the other - you can manage this by clicking between tabs.
You can set up EYFS curriculum assessments to track student progress through the year in line with the new framework. For more guidance on how you can implement the changes to your curriculum and practice, take a look at these DfE guides.
Summative assessments
In previous years it was possible to set up summative assessments in bulk for:
- EYFS Development Matters - These 7 assessments started with the name 'FSP'.
- EYFS Early Learning Goals - These 17 assessments started with the name 'ELG'.
Only schools that set these assessments up while they were available are able to continue using them by copying them over.
For schools new to Arbor assessments, if you wish to set up assessments to track FSP or ELG, you would need to set them up. You would need to do this before setting up curriculum assessments to be able to suggest summative assessment marks.
Please note that for reporting to the DfE, this should be done by following these instructions rather than setting up summative assessments: Completing the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP)
Setting up the new curriculum assessments
Please note: If you aren't able to see the assessments under the Early Years menu, please get in touch with us via email to enable these on your site.
First, you'll need to add the assessment to your Assessment Framework from Students > Assessment > Assessment > Assessment Framework > Assessment Catalogue. Click to Create new assessment.
Select the curriculum assessment type and change the drop-down menu to 'Early Years' to see the new templates. Click to view and use the Development Matters template.
You don't need to change any of the settings for steps 1 or 2.
For step 3, select the Emerging, Expected Marking Scale.
Click Skip for step 4.
You'll then need to add your assessments to your Assessment Policy from Students > Assessment > Anual Policy > Manage Assessments. Click to add assessments to your policy.
Select the curriculum Development Matters assessment.
Link it to your early years students. We recommend linking it to the course so your teachers can input the marks.
