Why is the school not on the list when exporting a CTF or adding Education and Employment History?

This article explains why a school may not appear when exporting a CTF or adding Education and Employment History. It emphasises the need to add the institution to the site and check its presence on the Get Information About Schools site. If issues persist, contacting Arbor Support or the relevant support partner is recommended.

Adding schools to the list

If you can't select a school when generating a CTF or adding Education and Employment history, this usually means you have not yet added the institution to your site. Arbor doesn't maintain a list of schools for you; the schools listed are ones you manually add.

You can see the schools set up on your site in School > Linked Organisations > Educational Institutions. 

If the school of your choice is not on the list on this page, you will need to add this as an Educational Institution before exporting your CTF. I've added the school to my site, but it hasn't appeared when I create a CTF

If you have added the school to the Educational Institutions part of Arbor and you still cannot see the institution when exporting a CTF or adding Employment History, you'll need to check if the destination school is on the Get Information About Schools site.

• If it's not there, ask the school in question to get in touch with the DfE so they can be added to their system.

Why is the school missing even though it appears correctly on Get Information About Schools?

We take the information directly from the Get Information About Schools database. This means that if a school has recently opened or converted (e.g. become part of a trust), there can be a delay before it appears on the CTF list.

This is usually temporary and resolves on its own, so allow 1-2 working days before contacting the Arbor Support Team.

• If the school still doesn't appear after waiting, contact the Arbor Support Team if supported by Arbor and reference code 1004, or contact your Support Partner if not supported by Arbor.
