This article addresses errors 2170, 2140, and 2160 related to Special Educational Needs (SEN) in student profiles. Error 2170 occurs when a student with an SEN Status of 'Education and Health Care Plan' or 'SEN Support' lacks recorded SEN Needs. Error 2140 indicates a missing or invalid SEN type rank, which can often be resolved by addressing error 2170. Error 2160 arises when there is only one SEN type present, requiring its rank to be '1'. Steps to resolve these errors are provided.
Error 2170
A valid SEN type must be provided for pupils where SEN provision equals 'K' or 'E'.
This error will occur if you have a student recorded with an SEN Status Assignment of 'Education and Health Care Plan' or 'SEN Support', but the student does not have any SEN Needs recorded.
To resolve this error:
- Go to the student's profile page.
- Click on Educational Needs on the left-hand menu.
- If the student has an SEN Status assignment of either Education and Health Care Plan, or SEN Support, you'll need to check whether an SEN Need has been logged under the Educational Needs section, and use the +Add button to record at least one SEN Need if not.
Error 2140
SEN type rank is missing or invalid
You may encounter this error along with error 2170 when a student has an SEN Status Assignment of Education and Health Care Plan, or SEN Support. Once you've taken the steps above to resolve error 2170, it's likely that 2140 will be cleared as well.
If you've resolved error 2170, regenerated your census and error 2140 continues to appear, you'll need to check the student's SEN Need's ranking values via the following process:
- Go to the student's profile page.
- Click on Educational Needs on the left-hand menu.
- Click on each of the student's active SEN Needs, and ensure the Ranking values are set as numbers. In the unlikely event they are not, click the Edit button and set a numerical value for the ranking. Once this has been done for all SEN Needs, error 2140 should disappear from the next census generation.
Please note: If a student only has one SEN Need, you don't need to set a ranking - Arbor will automatically treat this as rank 1.
Error 2160
If only one SEN type is present, SEN type rank must equal '1'.
You should only encounter this error when error 2170 is also appearing for a student. Taking the above steps to resolve 2170 should cause error 2160 to disappear as well.
In the unlikely event that error 2160 continues to appear, please contact your Arbor support for further assistance.
