The article explains errors 4041-4044 related to missing or invalid learner funding and monitoring data for English and Maths minimum hours for 16-19-year-olds who haven't achieved GCSE grade 4 or equivalent. Students must complete 100 hours of in-person teaching in these subjects. Errors 4041 and 4042 arise from missing minimum hours confirmation, which can be updated individually or in bulk via the student profile or bulk update tools. Errors 4043 and 4044 occur if student records don't meet specific criteria, including age, GCSE attainment, funding exemptions, planned learning hours, and valid learning aims.
- 4041 Error Message: Learner Funding and Monitoring information for English Minimum Hours is missing or invalid
- 4042 Error Message: Learner Funding and Monitoring information for Maths Minimum Hours is missing or invalid
- 4043 Error Message: Maths GCSE grade achieved is 'D'-'G' / '3'-'1', 'U' or 'NR' and the student is recorded as not having a funding exemption, therefore Maths minimum hours must be present
- 4044 Error Message: English GCSE grade achieved is 'D'-'G' / '3'-'1', 'U' or 'NR' and the student is recorded as not having a funding exemption, therefore English minimum hours must be present
The maths and English condition of funding guidance requires 16 to 19-year-olds to continue studying these subjects at a level 2 qualification level, where they have not yet achieved a GCSE grade 4 or equivalent. To meet the funding condition, students must study for a minimum number of hours. That is 100 hours for maths and/or 100 hours for English, to be delivered at any point in the academic year.
This support must be delivered as in-person, whole-class, stand-alone teaching. This data is returned in the School Census for students who are either on roll on census day or became off roll since the start of the academic year.
4041 and 4042
Errors 4041 and 4042 occur when confirmation of minimum hours is missing for a student.
Check if maths minimum hours confirmation or English minimum hours confirmation has been populated. This can be done either on the GCSE Attainment for Funding section in the main page of a student profile or via Bulk Update GCSE Attainment for Funding.
