This article explains how to track and report parental engagement through the Parent Portal and Parent App in Arbor. It details how to access usage statistics, including the percentage of guardians who have logged in and the average logins per week, categorised by current students, future students, and applicants. It also provides guidance on identifying guardians who have not logged in and how to communicate with them.
Once you've switched on the Parent Portal and Parent App and sent out login details, you can track the number and percentage of guardians who are engaging with Arbor. You can see more about parental engagement in Arbor here: Parental Engagement features in Arbor
Go to Students > Parents & Guardians > Parent Portal Usage.
Key statistics
In the Stats table, you'll see:
- The percentage of students enrolled in the academic year who have had at least one of their Primary Guardians log in at any time.
- The average number of logins per week so far this academic year.
For each figure, the statistics are split into:
- Current Students - These are students currently enrolled in your school.
- Future Students - These are students who have accepted a place at your school and who have a future enrolment date.
- Applicants - These are applicants to your school for this or future years who have an application status that is not Enrolled, Withdrawn or Rejected - read more about this process here
How are these figures calculated?
These figures are a combination of logins to the Parent Portal and the Parent App. There isn't a way to distinguish only logins into the App, for example.
They may include attempted logins: Can parents log in before we send out login details?
While the Parent Usage - Current Students stats figure is a fantastic indicator of engagement, the calculation logic, on occasion, may cause it to round up.
We always recommend using the table below to determine who hasn't yet logged in!
Who has not logged in?
Below the statistics, you can also send communications to guardians using the bulk actions.
Top Tip: Click on the column header to sort those with blanks (who haven't logged in) to the top.
Seeing who has logged in after a certain date
You might want to check which students have guardians who have signed in after a certain date.
For example, you might want to see which students have a guardian who signed in at least once this year or term. To do this:
- Click the three vertical dots in the Last Login column header
- Select Column Filter (Read more on table filters here)
- Select After in the dropdown
- Set the date you're interested in (e.g. the start of the year or term)
- Click off the filter to see the results (it applies automatically; there is no Save button)
