Error 9999

Error 9999 occurs when a student lacks recorded ethnicity and/or language data. To resolve this, update the information from the student's profile or through the Data Quality Dashboard.

Note: This error may also impact students who were unenrolled that academic year, depending on when the census is taking place. In that case, repeat as normal and proceed to add the missing ethnicity/ language.

To check the date range the census is covering, please refer to the School Census Guide.

Adding via the student profile

You will need to go to Students > All Students > Browse Students and select the student it is regarding. Then scroll down the student's profile until you reach the Language Abilities & Teaching section or the Identity section, depending on which part you need to update.

You can then proceed to either update existing details or select the green Add+ and add the student's information.

Please ensure you refresh the census once more after the change has taken place for the error to disappear.

For more information on this process, please refer to the Student's First Language guide.

Adding in the Data Quality module (bulk update)

You will need to go to School > Data > Data Quality > Students > Demographics > Bulk Update Basic Details.

Then you can select and search for the students you need, click on the Bulk Action option, and Bulk set the ethnicity or the Language.

This area will allow you to edit this information in bulk for enrolled students. For unenrolled students, this will need to be carried out manually per profile.
