This article explains why a student may appear in an incorrect class register and provides steps to resolve the issue, including checking enrolments and attendance scenarios such as staggered start dates, part-time status, dual registration, and scheduling conflicts.
If a student appears in a register when they are not supposed to be in the class, the teacher might give them an attendance mark by mistake when they shouldn't have one. There are a few reasons why this could happen and how to fix it, outlined below.
Step 1 - Check their enrolments
In Arbor, registers are tied to course enrolments. So, if the course is enrolled in the wrong course, they are likely to be in the wrong register. To check a student's course enrolments:
- Go to the student's profile
- Go to the Enrolment section on the left-hand side
Check the Courses section. In this example, the student is in year 9 but has been accidentally added to Year 8 classes.
Follow the instructions here to remove them from incorrect registers: Deleting the enrolment in case of mistake
