This article explains how to manually add KS1 or KS2 DfE assessment data for previous years if the data is not available in a CTF. It outlines the steps to select the academic year, add assessment templates, and input marks for students who were enrolled during the assessment period.
You may wish to manually add Statutory End of Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2) assessment data from a previous year for students if you don’t have the data in a CTF to import.
Please note that this is only possible if you are able to select the academic year in the drop-down menu. If the year is not in this menu, you will not be able to follow the instructions below, because you haven't recorded enrolment information for students for this year.
You will only be able to add results in this way if the students were enrolled in your school when taking the assessments (e.g. Primary or All-Through Schools). For Secondary Schools importing KS1 or KS2 results, you'll need to import them using a CTF.
To do this, go to Students > Assessments > DfE Assessments. Change the academic year to the year the student would have taken the assessment.
If the assessment is not already added to your site, click the Load assessment template button to add it. If it has already been added you won't be able to add it again.
Once you've added the template, click +Add.
Select the year group the student would have been in at the time, and choose an assessment date, then click Setup Assessments.
Select the assessment you've just set up and click Manage assessment.
You will then be able to remove the whole year group of students.
Click +Add to add just the students you want to add marks for.
Return to the Students > Assessments > DfE Assessments page, select the assessment and click Input marks.
You will then see a marksheet where you can add in the marks or use the bulk actions.
You can see which marks to use in the DfE's guidance here for KS1 and here for KS2.
