Can we swap or rename weeks A and B in our timetable?

This article explains how to swap weeks A and B in a two-week timetable, particularly after a holiday. It details the steps to change the weeks in the timetable settings and notes that changes can only be made between 2pm and 5pm. It also highlights that planned absences and room changes will not automatically adjust when weeks are swapped, requiring manual updates.

If you run a two-week timetable, you may need to change which weeks are assigned as weeks A and week B. This is common after a holiday, as the weeks are assigned chronologically so may not be in line with when you restart your timetable.

It is not possible to change what Week A and Week B are called.

Changing weeks

To change which weeks are week A or B, go to School > Timetable > Timetable Administration > Timetable Settings. Click to amend the order of the two-week timetable.

I can't change the weeks

Changes to your timetable cycle can only be performed between 08:00am and 10:00am and 12:30pm and 13:30pm.

Outside of these hours, you won't be able to click on the timetable cycle to edit it, and the slide over won't appear.

What happens after weeks are swapped?

Planned Absences

When weeks are swapped, planned absences in place will not be changed. This means if a planned absence was scheduled on week A and you swap the weeks, it will remain on the original week, which is now week B.

You will need to edit the planned absences: Planned absences

Room changes

When weeks are swapped, room changes will revert back to the original location sepcified for the timetable slot.

You will need to make the room changes again: Moving a class to a different room
