How Exclusion Reasons map to DfE Export Codes

We often get asked why we have more options in Exclusion Reasons than the DfE's list. The reason for this is so you have more granularity in recording and reporting at your school, but in the background of Arbor, we map our Exclusion Reasons list to the DfE Export Codes.

Please note that this is a list for UK DfE schools. For Isle of Man schools or schools completing the ILR, please contact us if you require a list.

When creating a report in the Custom Report Writer, you can choose how to display your exclusion reasons. In the slide over settings for the Fixed period exclusion reason(s) slide over, you can choose to display the reasons using the text, the code or the DfE label.
