Add historic behaviour points and initial points balances

We migrate logs of behaviour incidents from SIMS, Integris, Progresso and CMIS, so if you used behaviour incidents to track positive and negative behaviour, these will both have migrated.

SIMS Behaviour Initiatives will migrate into Behaviour Notes.

However, we don't migrate things associated with incidents, such as follow-ups or actions taken.

If you want to move your points across to Arbor to backdate and set initial points balances, you have two options:

  • Add a User Defined Field - this option is quicker, but you can only analyse using a Live Feed or custom formula in the Custom Report Writer.
  • Log all points for each student - this option takes longer to set up, but enables you to analyse your past behaviour anywhere in Arbor.

Add a User Defined Field

You can create a User Defined Field called Historic Behaviour Points, which can filled out for each student in bulk using the spreadsheet importer: Setting up and managing User Defined Fields (UDFs)

You can then report on this UDF in the Custom Report Writer and use custom formula to total the historic and current points together.

Log all points for each student

Step 1 - Change the maximum points

Go to Students > Behaviour > Setup and select the Point Awards tab. Select your point scale, then in the slide over click Manage Point Award Scale.

Click on Range of point awards and set this to be the maximum number you'll be giving for historic points.

Step 2 - Set up the attribute

Click +Add in the Reasons/attributes section to add this with no suggested number of points.

Step 3 - Record the points

Use the Record point award option in your Favourites on your homepage, or go to Students > Behaviour > Points > Recent and click the button there. Select one student or multiple students that have the same number of points.

Repeat this for each student or group of students with the same number of points.

Step 4 - Change the maximum points back

Return to Students > Behaviour > Setup and select the Point Awards tab. Select your point scale, then in the slide over click Manage Point Award Scale.

Click on Range of point awards and set this to be the original number again.
