Getting started and logging in
If you have not logged in to Arbor yet, welcome! Your school is now live and it’s time to log in.
We designed Arbor to open data up to everyone and automate repetitive tasks to save you time. The lesson dashboards have been specially built to allow teachers like you to see an overview of your lesson and take attendance, plus you can log behaviour or take further actions with the bulk actions.
This guide will give you an introduction to accessing Arbor and managing your classes and will teach you how to do the most important actions in your day-to-day life.
To log in, launch an internet browser - we recommend Google Chrome, and go to your school's URL e.g. http://[exampleschoolname].uk.arbor.sc. Follow the instructions in the Logging in for the first time section of this article: Log in and out of the School MIS as staff
If this does not work, get in contact with someone else in your school’s office team who will be able to send you a reset password email and follow our troubleshooting guidance in this article.
My Homepage
This is the first screen that you will see when you log in to your school's Arbor site.
It includes:
- Top menus and site links
- Search
- Favourites
- My Calendar
- To do
- Alerts

- Key performance indicators (KPIs)
Take a look here for a full breakdown of how you can use each section: My Homepage - your personalised Arbor Homepage
Managing my classes
The My Classes page
Go to My Items > My Classes from the top menu to reach a list of all classes you teach, and access Behaviour, Assessments and Assignments.
Here you'll see any incomplete Assessment Data Collections for the current academic year, or you can change the year to see past years'.
Top Tip: If you're no longer set as the Form Tutor/Academic Lead, you'll still see your class on this page until the end of the current academic year.
- For Primary schools, you'll see your Registration Forms on this page.
- For Secondary schools, you might have have Registration Forms or courses.
It's unlikely you'll be assigned a Teaching Group. If you have been, you'll see you're only able to select All Assessments, and choose a Summative Marksheet.
The lesson dashboard
The Lesson Dashboard is the page you’ll be using most as a teacher. From this page you can get to the attendance register, log behaviour, view demographic and medical details for the students in your class and much more!
To get to the Lesson Dashboard for the right lesson, click on the lesson you want to view in your calendar.
You will be taken to the lesson Dashboard for this class. You can then see how to run your class here: Managing my class from the Lesson Dashboard Overview
Taking attendance and inputting meals
From the Lesson Dashboard, click Take register to open your register.
You can also click My Classroom to take attendance from your seating plan if your school have enabled this. Take a look at our My Classroom guide for full details on this feature.
You can then fill in the register. Take a look at this article for full instructions: Taking the register
If your school uses meals, you can access the meals register by clicking Meal Choices from the left-hand menu. Take a look at this article for full instructions: Taking the meal register
